COLUMBIA, SC (SCDVA) – The South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs (SCDVA) is proud to announce its feature on the upcoming episode of Military Makeover: Operation Career, a compelling television series airing on Lifetime Network. The episode is set to premiere on December 29 at 7:30 a.m. and will showcase the vital role SCDVA plays in assisting, integrating, advocating, and informing our military and Veterans in the Palmetto State.
Our goal is to raise awareness about the resources available to Veterans in South Carolina and inspire other states to prioritize similar initiatives. Every Veteran deserves a successful and fulfilling civilian career, and through collaboration with state legislators, nonprofits and Veteran service organizations, SCDVA can make a meaningful difference.
“Four functions that are important to Veterans: one, we help Veterans gain the benefits they're entitled to; two, we integrate the capabilities of entities across the state that have interest in Veterans, including nonprofits, for-profits, academic institutions; three, we advocate for the military in South Carolina for the active and reserve components' footprint in South Carolina, and finally, part of our role is to inform the public about Veterans and Veteran programs,” said SCDVA Secretary Todd B. McCaffrey.
Military Makeover: Operation Career goes beyond the typical makeover show by spotlighting the incredible stories of military Veterans who are navigating the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. Each episode features a deserving Veteran and their family as they receive personalized career guidance, mentorship, and valuable resources to help them achieve success in the civilian workforce.
SCDVA’s Military Makeover: Operation Career feature will re-air on Lifetime Network on January 4 at 7:30 a.m.
