The South Carolina Veteran Coalition (powered by Combined Arms) is comprised of SCDVA leaders, Veteran Service Organizations and County Veterans Affairs' Officers joining together to help improve care, connect Veterans, Veteran Spouses, and their family members to resources in the state of South Carolina.
Collaboration
"...creating a well-rounded community of veterans who are United After The Uniform."
Combined Arms streamlines the connection between veterans and their families from all branches of the military with organizations that serve them, creating a new Veteran service model, focusing on collective impact - reinventing what it means to serve Veterans by creating pathways for them to access resources based on exactly what they’ve asked.
In 2016 Combined Arms launched its Community Leader Program in order to provide leadership opportunities for Veterans, spouses, and patriotic civilians to lead community building efforts. These leaders sign up to receive mental health, peer mentor, and active-listening training in order to become advocates for our members. They connect, refer, and accelerate their peers through our community building events leading our networking and social events. The South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs (SCDVA) works with other Veteran Service Organizations and Combined Arms to ensure Veterans seeking to be a peer mentor or community leader are connected to the right resources and groups for success.
Those interested in leading our mission to build the Veteran community should apply! Staff will reach out to you to assess your potential for fitting this role, which affinity group would be right for you, and potentially which existing community leader should mentor you.
Press Release issued by Combined Arms
June 8, 2022
"The state of South Carolina, led by Secretary Grimsley of the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs (SCDVA), invested in the Combined Arms model, methodology, and technology in order to increase interstate collaboration and efficiency for veterans and military families. After several months of close collaboration between the Combined Arms and SCDVA teams, The South Carolina Veteran Coalition powered by Combined Arms launched in April 2022.
Comprised of SCDVA leaders, veteran service organizations and County Veterans Affairs' Officers, The South Carolina Veteran Coalition offers statewide-coverage and is anticipated to serve approximately 1,000 veterans and military-connected individuals each year. 22 state agencies, nonprofits, federal agencies, and individual veterans and military family members across South Carolina use the Combined Arms-powered platform for lead captures, enrollment, communications, connection to resources, case management, resource mapping, due diligence, data warehousing, dashboards, reporting, and more.
"We jumped at the opportunity to share our statewide scalability and apply it to South Carolina's veteran-serving ecosystem. We worked closely with and learned a great deal from General Grimsley and the rest of the SCDVA team. This collaboration with South Carolina Department of Veteran Affairs has already proved to be a step in the right direction. Our partnership has inspired innovation and process improvement within the Combined Arms platform. This demonstrates our shared commitment to constantly advance the impact on our nation's veterans and military families. When vision is aligned, nothing is impossible." says Bryan Escobedo, National Systems Director for Combined Arms."
