Memorial Day will be observed this year on Monday, May 27th to honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Image removed.Every year, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issues a proclamation in observance of Memorial Day to encourage all to remember, recognize and honor Americans whose sacrifices helped strengthen our Nation and improved quality of life for people around the world.

Horse Creek Memorial Day Ceremony (10am), sponsored by American Legion Post 153, Horse Creek-Midland Valley Veterans Park, 3187 Augusta Rd. Warrenville, SC 29851, with monument dedication to late Burnettown Mayor Hector Rodriguez (U.S. Army)

Monday, May 27th

North Augusta Memorial Day Ceremony (11am), sponsored by American Legion Post 71, Wade Hampton Veterans Park, 226 Georgia Ave, North Augusta, SC 29841 (in case of inclement weather, the event will be held at American Legion Post 71, 333 E Spring Grove Ave, North Augusta, SC 29841).

Aiken Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony (11am), sponsored by Aiken County Veterans Council, Aiken County Veterans Park, 1435 Richland Ave E, Aiken, SC 29801 (in case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Horse Creek Academy gymnasium, 1200 Toolebeck Rd, Aiken, SC 29803).

USSVI Denizens of the Deep Submarine Veterans Base (12pm) will be having a Memorial Day Tolling of the Boats on Eternal Patrol Service, located at VFW Post 5877, 116 Midway Circle, Aiken, SC 29803.
