Fort Jackson hosts events for 2023 Retiree Appreciation Days

To show appreciation to retired soldiers, Fort Jackson is hosting several events for its 2023 Retiree Appreciation Days (RAD). The RAD events will begin Thursday, May 18 with an online message from the Garrison Commander at 0730 on Facebook and end on Saturday, May 20 with Victory Bingo. Retirees can expect to receive health and benefits information during the Health and Benefits EXPO at the Solomon Center and participate in the 19th Annual Retiree Appreciation Golf Tournament on the Wildcat Course.

Schedule

Thursday, May 18

  • 7:30 a.m.: Garrison Commander's Online Message to Retires. CLICK HERE.
  • 9:00 a.m.: Basic Training Graduation Ceremony and Salute to Retirees. Speaker: MSG (Ret.) Ed Lundeen. Reserved seating under the covered bleachers. POV parking (arrive early to avoid heavy traffic)

Friday, May 19

  • 9:00 a.m.: 19th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day Golf Tournament (shotgun start) on Wildcat Course. All military Retirees, Veterans, civilians and their guests are eligible to participate in the Captain's Choice tournament. Enter individually or as a team of four. Entry fee: $45 for FJG members, $55 for all authorized patrons, and $60 for civilian guests. 2023 field limit is 128 players/32 teams. Stop by the golf club or call to  register at 803-562-4437.

Saturday, May 20

  • 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Retire Health and Benefits EXPO at the Solomon Center, Strom Thurmond Blvd. Moncrief Army Health Clinic will provide health screening and counseling booths to include blood pressure screenings.
  • 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.: ID Card Services in building 5450 Strom Thurmond Blvd, Strom Thurmond Bldg.
  • 9:30 a.m.: AAFES in Store Sales at the Main PX and Commissary in Store Sales
  • 10:00 a.m.: Keynote Speaker: Mr. Mark Overberg, Director Army Retirement Services, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, from the Pentagon will provide updates and a Q & A session. Information booths, giveaways and more will be at the EXPO. Agencies represented will include: DENTAC, TRICARE, AER, PAALS, USAA, HUMANA, AWC, Big Ref Barn Retreat, Education Services, Casualty Assistance, Department of Veterans Affairs and more.
  • 1:00 p.m.: Victory Bingo at the Fort Jackson Victory Bingo games
